Private language-based summer programs:

Programs have a limited number of spots, so it’s best to apply early. Additional summer programs exist but are only available to enrolled students.

If a student has an OOD placement and qualifies for ESY programs below may be part of the placement. Consult with a lawyer or advocate to navigate qualifying for such a placement.

Hamilton Summer Program open to rising 2nd- to 7th-graders. It features classes that are taught by Hamilton School faculty and a maximum of six children per class. Classes focus on literacy, including Orton-Gillingham work, fluency, reading comprehension, and written expression. They also include science workshops that support literacy skills and will occur throughout the weeks.

Northeastern Word Detectives Summer Reading Program Boston, MA. Small group instruction for students entering 2nd – 6th grade who are reading below grade level.

Northeastern Math Masters aligns with the established Word Detectives reading program and will provide a small-group, individualized math boost for learners entering 2nd through 6th grade

Camp Dunnabeck Kent, CT: Camp Dunnabeck is an academic summer camp for students with dyslexia and language-based learning differences. Boarding is available, as well as day camper options.

Applewild School’s Summer Fitchburg, MA Foundations at Applewild: Foundations camp serves campers who have been diagnosed with language-based learning difficulties (such as dyslexia). In this program, campers will receive a hands-on learning experience and tutoring. Campers will spend time in the classroom learning, as well as outside experiencing the traditional activities of summer camp. Foundations will run during session C. Ages 9-13.
